So You Think You Know About HELB !!

I have been thinking if helb management really allocates helb fairly. sometimes i feel that it doesnt and the poor are not really taken care of. If there is anyone who really thinks that helb has given him or her enough money please tell me. For many of us I think HELB money is not enough to meet our daily needs in college.

Why dont they just give us enough money after all we are going to pay no matter how much they give us.

I have been looking for other alternatives but there seems to be none. Someone told me that KCB and National Bank offer loans in conjuction with Helb I dont know anyone who has tried it. I looked at National bank's requirements but wow! it is too much. The things they are asking means that most of the students will never ever get these loans.

I will be contacting several banks to ask if I am eligible for their so called Education loans and I will be sharing my findings with you.

HELB ohh Help!! Where is My 5000?

Some months ago HELB decided to increase HELB loans by 5000. But months after there is still no increase. It is just increasing our agony as only a few of us have managed to get the increment. We still don’t have the answers as t why they have not increased the allocation to everyone and maybe by next... Week they are going to do it. That is our only hope. But until then we have to live with our meager loans.

So what really happened to that HELB? It is a question on most people’s minds and maybe we are all just looking for the answers. We have tried to contact the HELB Management but we still haven’t got the answers to these most disturbing questions.

The criteria which HELB uses to allocate loans are still a mystery that is so difficult to understand. What we don’t understand here is that they promised to increase all loans by 5k but we have since not seen any change in our accounts. In fact most of us were already dead broke by the time the semester began.
